You Don't Rise to the Occasion; You Default to Your Level of Training
You’ve heard the phrase, “That person rose to the occasion.”
It sounds inspiring, but it’s hardly true.
You don’t rise to the occasion; instead, you default to your level of training. The military knows this. Olympic athletes know this. Actors know this. And the best leaders know this.
Training takes you farther than trying. Effort is important, but training is better. Yes, give your best effort. But your best effort won’t always take you far. You must give your best effort, while also enter into training.
So, what is your “training default mode?”
What areas of your life and leadership do you need to engage in training – and where will you go to receive it?
Training is always a better strategy than trying.
There are many places and ways to engage in training. One way is through leadership coaching. At Kairos Partnerships our leadership coaching provides leaders who feel stuck the intentional and focused space to get ‘unstuck,’ through incisive questions, resourcing, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We work with pastors, ministry and church leaders, and business leaders who are hungry to become healthy Kingdom leaders. If you’re interested in coaching you can learn more here.
