What is Leadership and What Are Your Challenges

This past weekend I was re-reading the book by Jim Collins, Beyond Entrepreneurship 2.0, Pondering the question, what is leadership? I love Jim Collins definition.

“Leadership is the art of getting people to want to do what must be done.”

Notice three things about this definition. First, as a leader, it’s your responsibility to figure out what must be done. Second, it’s not about getting people to do what must be done, but about getting them to want to do it. Third, it’s not a science, it’s an art.

Today, I want us to focus on the leadership challenges that we’re currently facing. Every one of us has challenges. Everyone! So take a moment to pause and reflect:

Where are you most stuck? Is it a lack of information, motivation, direction, or courage?

Where do you want to thrive, not merely survive?

Where do you want to go?

Why do you want to go there?

Who do you want to go with?

Again, what are your leadership challenges?

The number one factor we’ve found in overcoming challenges is not facing them alone. We hope you have community around you, and we are here to help you find clarity, courage and consistency. You can schedule a free 30 minute coaching call or email email me to get connected to our amazing team of coaches.

Whatever you’re facing in leadership remember you don’t have to face your challenges alone. Leadership is a team sport and we’re here to coach and support you and your team.
